Erlebnis Erde – Die Geheimnisse der Delfine (WDR)
Over a period of three years, a camera crew documented the lives of two dolphins, Laura and Ferdinand, and their daughters, Lia and Farida. Producer and director Ulf Marquardt travelled repeatedly to El Gouna and Hurghada to film the dolphins. With great patience and the support of the Dolphin Watch Alliance, a unique film was created: showing how dolphins hunt, how they look out for one another and how they help each other — in moments of joy and in times of danger. Yet it is not just a film about closeness, but also about threats: sharks, driftnets, fishing fleets and an ecosystem that is being destabilised.
